Spain and Russia are one step away from an historic appearance in the European Championships final. Tonight, the Spanish will realize that while their defense will have to be tighter to cope with the highly-rated Arshavin from Russia if they wish to advance to the final and write new episode in the history book. Whole petrol stations in Malaysia finally take action. Rumous has been spreading around they are gonna strike for few days. The reason is still unknown until further notice. Some of them say strike for 2 days, some say 3 days and some even say 2 weeks. If really for 2 weeks I don’t think fuel tank for a normal car will able to last that long. For those who have empty tank, good luck for the next few days.

Malaysia -A multi racial country that people live in peace and harmony for the last 51 years was hit by “tsunami” on 6 of June 2008. “40% increases in Petrol Price” become the headline in all local major newspaper. Motorist’s line up to buy petrol before the price increase at midnight, June 5, 2008. Malaysia will raise petrol prices by 41 percent on Thursday as part of a fuel subsidy reform that will double the rate of inflation this year.

Everyone heard & received rumours a week before the “incident” saying that the petrol price will increase to RM0.40 per litre but the rumours is once again denied by Malaysia Prime Minister in the next day which it is good news to the nation. Many of the Malaysian expects the increase in the price of petrol. But what make us angry are the quantum and the suddenness, without given proper announcement to the public and sufficient time to react to the sudden in such cases. There will be inflation and the standard of living to be adapted.

The “tsunami” effects in Petrol price increase is huge and can cause damage to the country economy stability. Malaysia is one of the country that produced petrol and export to other countries but why Malaysian did not enjoy the benefit of being one of the net petrol exporter country? Where is all the money go? Where people monies go? What is the current government doing? Life becomes so tough, toll increase, the petrol price increase, the electrical bill increase, water bill increase, the grocery price increase, the price for rice increase, the crime rate increase, bankruptcy rate increase, everything increase but the salary for both government servant and private sector employee is still remain the same or increase to a percentage that not even make your life become easier. For example, 40% increase in Petrol Price but just 5% increment in basic salary. For those who earning 5 figures a month will have no complaint about it but for those who earning less than RM5, 000 a month will have a lot to say and these group of people are equal to almost 80% of Malaysia total population. The poor will become poorer and the rich will become richest. There will be an increase in a gap between the poor and the rich. Will this country become Indonesia? India?

I’m not a supporter to either parties but as a Malaysian, I can’t stand anymore for current government incompetent in handling such cases. May be they are right that the government is subsidy too much money in paying the different in toll and petrol money but as a net petrol exporter - Malaysia is one of the country that will benefit in world fuel price hike but why Malaysians did not enjoy much of it and still need to suffer with it? Malaysian, it is time to speak up as the current government think we are speak less and stupid.

The effect in 40% increasing the petrol price will give impact to all the industry in the country. The increase in petrol price will lead to a price increase in transportation industry then in F&B industry, then in FMCG industry and etc. We are going to eat expensive foods, buy expensive stuffs……with current income. Malaysian needs to work even harder to maintain their current lifestyle and spending habits and need to start to learn to become a smart “financial consultant”. Other countries in the world is changing and growing continuously but Malaysia is changing and growing backwards as current government enjoy “The Jurassic Park” movie very well thinking of changing Malaysia to the world 1st Jurassic Park so that we can keep our name in the GUINESS WORLD RECORD.

Malaysians already burdened by the rising cost of living and the government cannot justify the increase by saying that our fuel price is still lower than Singapore and other countries. Why the government did not compare the fuel price with Brunei? The current fuel price selling in Brunei is equal to RM 1.20++ and it has not increase since the nineties. Why? Our government ALWAYS COMPARE OUR (Malaysia) PETROL TO NON OIL-PRODUCING COUNTRIES LIKE SINGAPORE and THAILAND but got no balls to do the comparison with other oil producing countries like below.
