Social Networking Security

Published by chickentype at 1:01 am under Security, Social Networking, Technology, Web

Recently reported Facebook’s security hole was discovered. Private photo was viewed by others even your account is set to be viewed only by authorized viewers.

A lot of people like to upload their photos into social networking like Friendster, Facebook etc. Well, photo that is not privated sure no harm to upload but still people like to upload their private photos and set it to only for closed friends, this is risky. For people that do not know much about computer technology especially software and web application, you never know whether there is security hole somewhere. There is no guarantee 100%. The best ever they can do 99.99%. Even Microsoft can’t make a 100% bug free software.

Facebook functions are surely impressive. For people who only intend to use it in a good way, no doubt it’s user friendly and fun. Just because to reach the stage of user friendly, AJAX technology is needed. Once AJAX is implemented, AJAX drills a hole everytime no matter how strong they try to cover up the hole with strong security code. It’s still hacker favorite place to sneak through from the hole.
